After beating up by law enforcers, resident of Stavropol Territory may face disability

Archil Parsalashvili, a resident of the village of Kurskaya, Stavropol Territory, who was beaten last December by law enforcers, has been discharged from hospital; however, as stated by his father Nikolai, he will not be able to fully recover his health.

On December 21, 2020, the advocate, Gasan Shamkhalov, stated that Archil Parsalashvili had been beaten up by law enforcers for refusing to undergo an alcohol test on the spot. Archil's father said that his son was paralyzed.

According to the advocate, Alexander Vlatsenko, now Archil Parsalashvili moves on crutches; he will receive a disability category. According to doctors' forecasts, the improvement of his health condition will begin only in two to three months.

No case has yet been initiated against the four law enforcers who took part in beating him up, Mr Vlatsenko has noted.

It is quite easy to prosecute the law enforcers who had exceeded their powers; there is such a legal experience, the advocate, Evgeny Chernousov, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, noting that if a driver refuses to undergo a medical examination, law enforcers should in no case use force – this is a violation of the law.
