Azerbaijani MoD reports names of 2855 deceased soldiers

According to the list of the deceased soldiers and officers released by the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence (MoD), 2855 military men killed during the combat actions for Nagorno-Karabakh in the autumn of 2020 were buried. Other fifty military personnel are declared to be missed in action.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that until December 3, 2020, Azerbaijan did not disclose the number of its military personnel killed during the autumn escalation of the Karabakh conflict. The updated list, released by the Azerbaijani MoD on January 11, included the names of 2841 deceased military personnel and 64 others missed in action.

The Azerbaijani MoD has made public the updated list with the names of 2855 military personnel, whose bodies have been identified and buried as of today. Fifty soldiers remain missed in action.

The Azerbaijani MoD's list contains the names and surnames of both the deceased and the missing military personnel, their military ranks, and dates of birth, accompanied with photos. "The activities are underway to search for and identify the military personnel missed in action," the Azerbaijani MoD reports on its official website.
