Military doctors have begun to vaccinate Russian peacekeepers in Nagorno-Karabakh against coronavirus, and about 2000 doses of the "Sputnik-V" vaccine have been delivered for them. In the period from January 14 to 31, the first component of the drug will be administered to the military personnel, while in the period from February 1 to 21, they will get the second component of the vaccine, the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD) reports.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that during the combat actions in Nagorno-Karabakh, 29 patients died from the coronavirus. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 2031 coronavirus-infected patients have been registered, and 31 infected patients have died, the local Ministry for Public Health reports.

The commanders of the Russian peacekeeping contingent and medical officers of the military units were the first who got the vaccine.

Before vaccination, the military personnel undergo a barrier medical examination, and if no contraindications are detected, then a person will be vaccinated, reports Alexei Kruchinin, the chief of the medical centre in Nagorno-Karabakh.
