Veterans of Karabakh conflict come out to protest in Yerevan

The protesters tried to block the passage of the mourning march in memory of the victims of the Karabakh conflict, headed by Prime Minister, Nikol Pashinyan, into the territory of the pantheon.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that after the signing of an agreement by Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia to end the hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh, the opposition held actions in Armenia demanding Pashinyan's resignation. The Catholicos Garegin II also called on Pashinyan to leave his post.

On December 19-21, Armenia announced mourning for the military servicemen who perished during the Karabakh conflict. On Saturday, December 19, Nikol Pashinyan, the Premier, headed the mourning march from the government building in Yerevan to the "Erablur" Pantheon, the "Interfax" reports.

Veterans of the Karabakh conflict have blocked the passage to the pantheon, trying not to let Pashinyan from into its territory. The action was attended by several thousand people, including casualties' relatives and the opposition. Law enforcers had to use force to ensure the passage of the march to the pantheon.
