South-Ossetian MPs demand results of inquiry into Djabiev's death

The Prosecutor's Office should bring to justice those responsible for the death of Inal Djabiev, regardless of their positions, the MPs have stated.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 4, in Tskhinvali, Djabiev's relatives began an endless protest action. They demand an efficient investigation into Djabiev's death, punishment of those guilty and resignation of the Prosecutor General. On December 18, Djabiev's mother complained that the authorities were ignoring protesters' demands.

The Parliament of South Ossetia has demanded from Uruzmag Djagaev, the Public Prosecutor General, to carefully investigate the case of Djabiev's death. David Sanakoev, an MP, has posted the respective statement on the Facebook.

The MPs have also demanded from Djagaev not to equate them to the opposition. "In his understanding, now almost the entire people of South Ossetia are oppositional. There are no people unsympathetic with the Djabievs' tragedy," says the statement.

The MPs tried to persuade the Djabiev family to leave the square, but they refused, the IA "RES" reports quoting Pyotr Gassiev, Vice-Speaker of the South Ossetian Parliament.
