PO reports completion of inquiry into death of Georgian programmer Bachaliashvili

The death of 23-year-old programmer Tamar Bachaliashvili was a suicide, the Georgian Prosecutor's Office (PO) has announced the results of the inquiry into the case.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the advocate of the Bachaliashvili family had presented satellite images to investigators as proofs against the suicide version. On September 23, an examination showed that these photos were falsified. On September 25, law enforcers announced the arrest of David Purtskhvanidze, the head of the "Anti-Crisis Centre for Security Problems" Company. Investigators believe that he had handed the falsified photos to the advocate in order to advertise his company and attract donors.

On July 22, the body of the 23-year-old Tamar Bachaliashvili was found in her own car. Her mother demanded to meet the Prime Minister of Georgia in order to find out which officials' files her daughter had received access on the eve of her death.

Investigators have found out that the girl tried to commit suicide back in 2012.

"In August 2017, Tamar Bachaliashvili started working for 'Zeg Ltd.' ... There, she had feelings to one of the employees. She constantly sent him love letters telling about her love, how she suffered and thought about suicide," The PO has reported.

Earlier, Teona Tamazashvili, Tamar's mother, said that she did not trust the investigators' version about her daughter's suicide. She demanded that the FBI agents join the investigation, but the FBI refused.
