Azerbaijan requests Armenia to return three prisoners of war

Three more Azerbaijani citizens are still being kept by the Armenian side as prisoners of war, the authorities of Azerbaijan report. The Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia announced the negotiations with Baku concerning the fate of 73 soldiers of the Defence Army who were missed in action in the Hadrut District.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 5, Azerbaijan and Armenia agreed on the exchange of prisoners of war on the principle of "all for all." On December 15, 44 people returned to Armenia, and 14 returned to Azerbaijan, including Shakhbaz Guliev and Dilgam Askerov, who in 2014 were sentenced in Karabakh to 22 years of imprisonment and life imprisonment, respectively. Some of the Armenian prisoners of war are still being kept in Azerbaijan, the authorities of Nagorno-Karabakh report.

Eldar Samedov, the deputy chair of the working group on the affairs of prisoners of war, claims that Azerbaijani prisoners of war are being subjected to inhuman treatment. According to Eldar Samedov, the above is being proved by videos and photos taken by Armenian soldiers themselves.

The chair of the working group reported that after September 27, 54 people were transferred to Armenia.

According to the Armenian side, more and more soldiers are being captured.

The capture of 73 soldiers of the Nagorno-Karabakh Defence Army in the Hadrut District has not yet been confirmed, and the negotiations are underway, reports Tigran Avinyan, Armenian Deputy Prime Minister.
