After Nagorno-Karabakh conflict aggravation, USA has questions to Turkey

The transfer of foreign militants and the delivery of weapons to the war zone in Nagorno-Karabakh raise questions about Turkey's role in the Karabakh conflict, Philip Thomas Reeker, the acting assistant to the US Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, has stated.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that during the recent aggravation of the Karabakh conflict, Turkey openly supported Azerbaijan, but denied its direct participation in the armed conflict.

In early October, France and the United States made public the information concerning the transfer of militants from Syria to the Karabakh conflict zone in transit through Turkey. On October 4, the Armenian authorities accused Turkey of involvement in shelling attacks on cities, towns, and villages in Nagorno-Karabakh and requested the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) to respond to the above-mentioned fact.

The USA is extremely concerned about Turkey's role in the hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh, the TASS quoted Mr Reeker as saying on December 8. According to his story, the transfer of foreign militants and the delivery of weapons to the conflict zone remain a part of the US dialogue with Turkey and Russia.

Philip Thomas Reeker has also stated that the USA still has "many questions" to Russia about the current ceasefire regime in Nagorno-Karabakh. However, Washington welcomes the ceasefire agreements reached thanks to Russia's diplomatic efforts, the "Sputnik-Armenia" has reported with reference to its source.
