Russian military doctors start visiting Nagorno-Karabakh villagers

Russian peacemakers have organized visits of medical teams to serve patients in the villages of the Askeran District of Nagorno-Karabakh.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on November 29, the first group of more than 60 Russian military doctors arrived in Nagorno-Karabakh to provide medical assistance to the local population. On November 30, the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD) announced that a field hospital for 40 beds had been deployed in Stepanakert for rendering medical care to Russian military servicemen and local residents. On December 5, military doctors began consultations; and 40 first patients received help during the day.

The "Caucasian Knot" has drafted a map to show the territories that will pass over to Azerbaijan after the autumn war. Also, the "Caucasian Knot" has published a deployment map of the Russian peacekeepers in Nagorno-Karabakh.

From the staff of the special troops' medical detachment, they have formed mobile medical teams to service patients in remote villages and settlements of the Askeran District, the Russian MoD has reported in its website today.

Local residents turn to military doctors for dental care, as well as in connection with the exacerbation of various chronic diseases, and problems with the cardiovascular and endocrine systems, the MoD has noted.

According to the MoD, more than 60 medical experts work in the above special troops' medical detachment, including military surgeons, anaesthesiologists-resuscitators, therapists and epidemiologists.
