Conscripts' parents complain about conditions of army service in Nagorno-Karabakh

In Yerevan, protesters claim that participants of the autumn fighting in Nagorno-Karabakh have to sleep on the floor in schools. According to the activists, the soldiers should be demobilized ahead of schedule and returned to Armenia. The protestors demanded from the Armenian Ministry of Defence (MoD) to confirm the compliance with the ceasefire in the conflict zone.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that parents of Armenian soldiers demand a return of their children from Karabakh. They fear that the soldiers may fall victim to sabotage or be captured. The Armenian MoD ruled out the withdrawal of troops, but promised to give the soldiers leave.

Today, the parents of the soldiers on army service in Karabakh have again gathered in front of the building of the Armenian government. Participants of the fighting, who are to be demobilized in January, should be returned home a month earlier, Asmik Grigoryan claims.

"They took part in that big war. They lost their friends, spent nights at outdoor military posts, and now they have to sleep on the floor in schools," said the activist as quoted by the "News.am".

The soldiers' parents also question the veracity of the ceasefire claims.

It should also be noted that on November 29, more than 1000 activists approached the building of the Russian Embassy in Armenia with a request to intervene in the process of transferring prisoners of war and giving out of the bodies of deceased soldiers.
