Criminal case against blackmailer initiated after inquiry by Dagestani blogger

At least 15 groups were found on the Internet that post photos and videos of Dagestani girls without their consent and then blackmail them, the blogger, Dibir Dibirov, has stated. He handed over the results of his investigation to the police; and a criminal case was initiated under the article "violation of privacy" against a Khasavyurt resident.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on November 2, Dibir Dibirov announced a fight against the publics that posted photos of Dagestani women with insults.

According to investigators, in September, the suspect posted a nude photo of a local woman on the Instagram without her consent.

The blogger, Dibir Dibirov, said that mothers of the girls who fell victim to moderators of such groups were first to contact him.

"They said that one of the girls, whose photo was placed in such a group, was afraid that relatives would find out about it and committed suicide. I decided that it should not be left like that any longer," the blogger has stated.

According to his story, in total he found about 15 such groups, contacted with almost all of their administrators and began persuading them to stop "doing dirty things."

As long as there is a "struggle for morality" on all fronts in the republic, such groups will flourish, said human rights defender Svetlana Anokhina. In the fight against such publics, innocent girls are exposed as bitches, she said.
