UEFA opens case against head of press service of "Karabakh" FC for hate speech
Nurlan Ibragimov, the head of the press service of the Azerbaijani "Karabakh" Football Club (FC) has published a post in social networks calling for violence against Armenians. The UEFA (Union of European Football Associations) has appointed a disciplinary investigation into this case.
As reported by the FC's Facebook page, Ibragimov wrote an angry post, as he received a psychological trauma against the background of hostilities. The bosses of the "Karabakh" FC have assured that the head of the press service will be punished in accordance with the law; and the club does not share Ibragimov's personal position.
In its turn, the Football Federation of Armenia (FFA) has called for exclusion of the "Karabakh" FC from the European Cup. "This is not an 'ordinary' post by Azerbaijani football officials, after which the FFA demanded not to politicize football. This is a call to murder," the FFA has noted, the "Sputnik-Armenia" reports.
