Number of killed Nagorno-Karabakh soldiers rises by 40

The Ministry of Defence (MoD) of Nagorno-Karabakh has made public the new lists of 40 killed soldiers. In total, since the beginning of the escalation of the conflict, the MoD of Nagorno-Karabakh has reported about 874 killed soldiers.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that today, Armenia and Azerbaijan have reported about the battles along the entire frontline. At the same time, the parties to the conflict accused each other of shelling attacks on villages, towns, and cities in the Gabala, Kyurdamir, and Siyazan District of Azerbaijan and the Martuni District of Nagorno-Karabakh.

The Azerbaijani side does not disclose its combat losses. Meanwhile, according to the General Prosecutor's Office of Azerbaijan, since September 27, 63 civilians were killed, and 293 others were injured. According to the Ombudsman of Nagorno-Karabakh, during the period from the beginning of the hostilities till October 17, 37 civilians were killed, and 116 others were injured.

Russian analysts, interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot", believe that the Azerbaijani army is better armed than the military formations of Nagorno-Karabakh and Armenia taken together, but the training of the Armenian military personnel should not be underestimated. Azerbaijani expert Azad Isazade notes that Baku is not satisfied with the formula for a peaceful resolution of the conflict: Azerbaijan is seeking full control over the areas it considers as its occupied territories.
