Sending Azerbaijani citizens from camp near Kullar resumed

On October 20, 206 Azerbaijan citizens were sent home from the tent camp near Kullar, the administration of the Derbent District of Dagestan has informed. After the restart of sending people from Kullar, the camp population will increase, local authorities expect.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that a temporary accommodation centre (TAC) in the form of a tent camp was opened near the Dagestani village of Kullar for the citizens of Azerbaijan, who could not get home after the border was closed due to coronavirus. Every week on Tuesdays, camp residents and newly coming Azerbaijanis were sent home in groups. Then, because of the military actions in Karabakh, the dispatch was suspended since September 29. With the onset of cold weather, the conditions in the camp became more severe. The tents are not heated; and people have to sleep in clothes.

When forming dispatch lists, the priority was given to families. Prior to compiling the list, there were up to 330 people in the camp, and 206 of them have crossed the border. The next dispatch is scheduled for October 27.
