Azerbaijan accuses Armenia of missile attack on Nakhichevan

A missile launched by the armed forces of Armenia exploded in the territory of the Ordubad District in the Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic, no casualties or injuries occurred, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of Azerbaijan reports today. The Ministry of Defence of Armenia refuted the information about the shelling attack on Nakhichevan.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 10, an agreement on ceasefire in the Karabakh conflict zone entered into force, but the parties to the conflict continued to report about battles and shelling attacks.

The Armenian armed forces attacked the Nakhichevan District. "At 10:44 a.m. on October 15, an operational-tactical missile was launched by the Armenian armed forces from the territory of the occupied Gubadli District. It exploded in the Ordubad District in the Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic. No civilians or civilian facilities suffered," the Azerbaijani MoD reports today.

The territories of the Goranboy, Terter, Agdam, Agjabedi, and Fizuli District are still subjected to shelling attacks, the Azerbaijani MoD reports on its official website.

The Ministry of Defence of Armenia refuted the information about the shelling attack on Nakhichevan. "We declare that not a single missile was fired in the direction of the Ordubad District of Nakhichevan. This is a new false report of the Azerbaijani military and political leaders," Shushan Stepanyan, the press secretary for the Ministry of Defence of Armenia, reports on her Facebook page today.
