Azerbaijan and Armenia agree on ceasefire
The heads of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs (MFAs) of Azerbaijan and Armenia have agreed on a ceasefire in the Karabakh conflict zone from October 10.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that since September 27, fierce battles have begun in the Karabakh conflict zone. On October 8, Russian President Vladimir Putin called on the parties to stop fighting in order to exchange the casualties' bodies and prisoners of war, and also invited the MFA heads of Armenia and Azerbaijan to consult on this issue in Moscow.
The talks of Sergey Lavrov, Zograb Mnatsakanyan and Djeikhun Bairamov, the MFA heads of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan, accordingly, on the situation in the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NK) were held on October 9 in Moscow.

Following the talks, Mr Lavrov said on a video posted on the Facebook page of the Russian MFA that the parties would exchange prisoners of war and other detained persons and casualties' bodies through the mediation of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). Also, Azerbaijan and Armenia will begin, with the mediation of the OSCE Minsk Group, their peace talks.
