Karabakh Ombudsperson counts civilian victims

Since the start of the conflict escalation, the Ombudsperson's office of Nagorno-Karabakh has recorded over 110 civilian victims. There are casualties in the cities of Stepanakert, Martuni, Martakert, Gadrut, in the dwelling settlements of Alashan and Aigestan, and in the village of Mets Shen.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported, citing Nagorno-Karabakh's Ministry of Defence (MoD), that on October 8, fighting resumed in the southern and northern directions of the frontline. Three journalists were wounded during the shelling of the cathedral in Shushi.

Azerbaijan is using prohibited weapons and forbidden military methods, Artak Beglaryan, the Karabakh Ombudsperson, has claimed. He has called on international human rights organizations to take measures to prevent the escalation of the humanitarian catastrophe in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh).

Earlier, the Azerbaijani Agency for Territory Demining stated that Armenian militaries had used cluster warheads prohibited by international conventions while shelling the Goranboy District.
