Azerbaijan reports new civilian victims of shelling

The Armenian militaries have launched an intensive shelling of the villages of Khyndyrystan, Alibeili, Akhmadagaly and Safarli of the Agdam District; there are casualties and wounded people among the civilian population, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence (MoD) has announced.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in the course of intensive shelling in the Karabakh conflict zone, continuing since September 27, civilians are killed on both sides of the frontline. According to Azerbaijan, since September 27, in the country's settlements, 16 people have been killed and 55 others wounded during shelling attacks committed by Armenian militaries. In Nagorno-Karabakh, according to official data, nine persons were killed and more than 30 others were wounded. On September 28, Armenia reported the first civilian who was killed in the shelling from Azerbaijan of the villages of the Vardenis District. It also became known that one of the shells wounded a child in an Iranian village located on the border with Nagorno-Karabakh.

According to the Azerbaijani MoD, at night and in the morning on October 2, hostilities continued in different sections of the frontline. The Armenian militaries have launched an intensive shelling of the villages of Khyndyrystan, Alibeili, Akhmadagaly and Safarli of the Agdam District; there are casualties and wounded people among the civilian population, the MoD has announced today.

In the Agderin direction (north of Nagorno-Karabakh), Azerbaijani troops took control of the heights around Madagiz. In Djebrail-Fizuli direction, the Azerbaijani army pushed back the Armenian militaries and moved forward. Azerbaijani troops also control the operative situation in the direction of the Murovdag mountain range, the MoD has stated.

In its turn, the MoD of Nagorno-Karabakh has stated that at night, the situation in the conflict zone was "stable and tense." "The units of the Defence Army continue suppressing all the enemy's attacks," the MoD of Nagorno-Karabakh has stated in its website, claiming that Azerbaijani militaries had suffered losses among their military staff and equipment.
