Argun resident convicted of recruiting militants to Syria

The court has sentenced Nurdi Bersanukaev, a resident of Chechnya, to six years in prison for calling his acquaintances to take part in the Middle East conflict.

He was found guilty under the article on assisting in terrorist activities. According to investigators, from August 2018 to January 2020, when meeting his acquaintances, he showed them videos campaigning for Syrian militants. Bersanukaev, 30, will spend five years in a maximum security colony and a year in prison. He has pled guilty.
