Appointment of Aishat Kadyrova comes into conflict with her business

The post of the First Deputy Minister of Culture of Chechnya is only the start of the official career of Aishat Kadyrova, a daughter of Ramzan Kadyrov, the head of the republic, experts believe. The combination of a post in the Ministry of Culture with the management of the "Firdaus" Fashion House may provide grounds for Kadyrova's dismissal, Alexander Karavaev, a lawyer, has noted.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 1, Ramzan Kadyrov announced the appointment of his 21-year-old daughter Aishat to the post of the First Deputy Minister of Culture of Chechnya.

Professor Alexei Malashenko, the head of scientific studies at the "Dialogue of Civilizations" Institute, believes that Aishat Kadyrova is being prepared for the post of minister. "She, of course, will become the head of this ministry. This and, in the future, her appointment as the head of the ministry is a continuation [of establishing] the full control of Ramzan Kadyrov's clan over state structures," Mr Malashenko told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

The law prohibits Kadyrov's daughter, who has received the post of deputy minister of culture, to engage in commercial activities, Alexander Karavaev, a lawyer, is sure. "The federal law establishes bans related to the civil service, in particular, a state servant is prohibited from engaging in entrepreneurial activities personally or through proxies," Mr Karavaev told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. According to his version, the combination of commercial activities with state service may become grounds for her dismissal.
