Children of North-Caucasian natives handed over to relatives after return from Syria

Doctors found no coronavirus in 26 children-natives from Northern Caucasus evacuated from Syria. All the children were transferred to their relatives in Dagestan, Ingushetia and Karachay-Cherkessia, the children's ombudsperson has informed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 18, 26 children from Dagestan, Ingushetia and Karachay-Cherkessia were taken out of Syrian camps and prisons and quarantined in a Moscow sanatorium. They will be able to return home after receiving a negative result for COVID-19, said Anna Kuznetsova, the Children's Ombudsperson under Russian President.

"All the tests proved to be negative; therefore Ms Kuznetsova discussed with the doctors an early children's transfer to their relatives, without waiting for the expiry of the prescribed 14-day quarantine. As a result, the relatives were allowed to take the children," the press service of the Russian Children's Ombudsperson has reported.

According to Anna Kuznetsova, preparations are underway for the next flight to Syria; documents on other 87 children are ready.
