The court found the defendant guilty of disseminating symbols of a terrorist organization and a video humiliating human dignity. In February 2020, the Bavarian Supreme Court cancelled the sentence.

Mokhmad Abdurakhmanov is a member of the human rights association "Vayfond" in Germany, the leaders of which criticizes the authorities of Chechnya. All procedural costs, including the lawyer's remuneration, incurred by Mokhmad Abdurakhmanov, will be reimbursed by the state.

One of the videos that became the basis for the criminal proceedings against Mokhmad Abdurakhmanov was a repost of an article published by Deutsche Welle which reported how members of the "Islamic State", a terrorist organization banned in Russia by the court, were obtaining firearms.
