Drivers complain about control of crossing Chechen-Ingush border
Residents of Chechnya are not let out on the Ingush border; and residents of other regions are officially banned from entering the Chechen territory due to the threat of coronavirus spread, drivers claim.
On August 7, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent visited the checkpoint on the Chechen-Ingush border.
The exit from Chechnya is closed only for residents of the republic, one of the drivers explained to the "Caucasian Knot".
A law enforcer at the entrance checkpoint not far from Sunzha has stated, when the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent tried to enter Chechnya, that the road was still closed, but the transit was allowed. "You can't go to Grozny ... [Only those can drive through] who are registered in Chechnya. For transit to Dagestan ... you need to get a pass," the source told the "Caucasian Knot".
Ingush residents living near the Chechen border said that residents of Chechnya are not allowed out of the republic, even under exceptional circumstances. Thus, Baudi, a 52-year-old resident of one of the Chechen villages, has noted that he was not allowed to attend the funeral.
