Cheldiev suspected of organizing mass riots

The four criminal articles in Vadim Cheldiev's case have been supplemented by the article on organizing mass riots in Vladikavkaz.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Vadim Cheldiev, as the alleged initiator of the rally in Vladikavkaz, was accused of publicly disseminating deliberately false information about coronavirus, as well as of extremism and hooliganism. Besides, he was accused of assaulting a law enforcer during convoying. He did not participate in the rally, as was detained before it. Cheldiev has explained the clashes at the rally in Vladikavkaz and the scuffle during his convoying by law enforcers' provocations.

The Chief Investigating Department of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) has already opened the fifth criminal case against Cheldiev – under the article on organizing mass riots, Batraz Kulchiev, a Cheldiev's advocate, has explained, noting that under this article alone his client faces up to 15 years in prison.

In the evening on August 5, a series of solo pickets in support of Vadim Cheldiev was held in central Vladikavkaz. The picketers were standing in Lenin Square in turn holding the banner: "Freedom to Vadim Cheldiev! No to werewolves with shoulder straps!"
