In Moscow, 13 people detained after clashes between natives of Azerbaijan and Armenia

In Moscow, law enforcers detained 13 participants of a fight in which a man was stabbed, the police reported. The injured man is a native of Armenia, notes David Tonoyan, a member of Armenian Diaspora in Moscow.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the Consulate General of Azerbaijan in the USA claimed that a policeman and seven Azerbaijanis suffered at a protest rally against the aggravation of the conflict on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border held in Los Angeles on July 21.

The situation on the border of the Tovuz District of Azerbaijan and the Tavush Region of Armenia escalated on July 12. According to the Armenian side, the situation on the border aggravated after the Azerbaijani troops had tried to break through the border. In its turn, the Ministry of Defence of Azerbaijan claims that the conflict escalated after the Armenian armed forces had attempted to go on the attack.

At night on July 24, clashes between natives of Azerbaijan and Armenia took place in Moscow, the "360" TV channel reports on its website today. The TV Channel has released a video made by eyewitnesses, the footage of which shows a person jumping on the windscreen of a parked car and another man hitting a car driver. A voice-over claims that an Armenian was attacked.

The law enforcers detained 13 participants of the fight in which a man was injured. The victim was taken to hospital with a cut wound in his shoulder, the press service for the Chief Department for Moscow of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) reports.

On his Facebook page, David Tonoyan, a member of the Union of Armenians of Russia, called on compatriots to calm down. "Friends, please, express no panic and hysteria. Do not disseminate any unverified information. It is very important! An acquaintance of ours was stabbed. The other reports are being checked," David Tonoyan wrote.

In turn, Armenian Ambassador Vardan Toganyan suggested that the numerous clashes had been planned by natives of Azerbaijan. "We were receiving the confirming data all night. There were several such cases in the south-eastern area of Moscow. Very well-organized and well-armed gangs were apparently tracking down and attacking cars with Armenian state registration numbers. Individuals were also attacked by them. They started a big fight. No one was killed, but some people were injured, and some of them were brought to hospitals," said Vardan Toganyan as quoted by the "Govorit Moskva" Radio Station on the website.
