Social network users surprised by Kadyrov being awarded the rank of Major General
Ramzan Kadyrov, who was awarded the military rank of Major General by the President of Russia, has been holding the rank of General for more than 10 years already, some Instagram users express their surprise.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 22, Vladimir Putin awarded Ramzan Kadyrov the military rank of Major General, the leader of Chechnya himself announced. His statement came amid new sanctions announced by the US Department of State against Ramzan Kadyrov on July 20.
On July 20, the US State Department announced that sanctions were imposed against Ramzan Kadyrov in connection with human rights violations in Chechnya. The sanctions have also affected Kadyrov's wife Medni and his two daughters, Aishat and Khadizhat.
