Putin supports Kadyrov by awarding him rank of Major General

On July 22, Vladimir Putin awarded Ramzan Kadyrov, the leader of Chechnya, the military rank of Major General. This was announced by the leader of the region himself.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 20, the US State Department announced that sanctions were imposed against Ramzan Kadyrov in connection with human rights violations in Chechnya. The sanctions have also affected Kadyrov's wife Medni and his two daughters, Aishat and Khadizhat.

Today, Ramzan Kadyrov has announced his new military rank of Major General on his page in the social network "VKontakte". "Yesterday, I had the honour to accept congratulations in connection with the fact that Supreme Commander-in-Chief Vladimir Putin, President of Russia, personally awarded me the military rank of Major General. During a phone conversation, the President of Russia himself read out the appropriate decree, congratulated me on the event, and wished me further success. This is a high award, and I highly appreciate it," Ramzan Kadyrov wrote.

The leader of Chechnya has attached to his post a photograph of the decree awarding him the military rank. "To award Ramzan Akhmatovich Kadyrov the military rank of Major General," states the document dated July 22.

The website of the Chechen leader has posted the information confirming that Ramzan Kadyrov had been awarded the new military rank. The leader of Chechnya thanked Vladimir Putin for the rank of Major General and declared his readiness to carry out a most difficult order of the Russian President. "We have everything for that, including will, determination, full readiness, vehicles, and – it should be noted to ensure that no one has any questions – firearms legally received from the federal institutions," the website of the Chechen leader announces.
