In Moscow, four activists detained at solo pickets in support of Mordasov and Sidorov
Law enforcers detained participants of solo pickets held in front of the building of the Supreme Court (SC) of Russia, which scheduled for today a consideration of a cassation appeal against the verdicts to Rostov-on-Don residents Vladislav Mordasov and Yan Sidorov.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 4, 2019, the Rostov-on-Don Regional Court found Vladislav Mordasov and Yan Sidorov guilty of plotting an organization of mass riots in Rostov-on-Don in November 2017 and sentenced them to 6 years and 7 months and 6.5 years of imprisonment in a penal colony, respectively. Advocates of Vladislav Mordasov and Yan Sidorov called the verdict cynical. According to the advocates, the court considered the testimony "knocked out" of their clients by beatings as acknowledgement of guilt.
The Amnesty International (AI) has announced Sidorov and Mordasov to be prisoners of conscience, and the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial" has added them to the list of political prisoners.
Today, the press service of the unregistered Other Russia Party has reported that law enforcers detained participants of the solo pickets in support of Yan Sidorov and Vyacheslav Mordasov held in front of the building of the Russian Supreme Court.
The solo pickets were held in front of the building of the Supreme Court, since it was planned for today to consider the cassation appeal against the sentences to Vladislav Mordasov and Yan Sidorov, the "Mediazona" reports.
