Media publish inquiry into Kadyrov's ties with big businesses
The head of Chechnya and his retinue get access to assets worth hundreds of millions US dollars with the help of nominee business owners, in return for providing them help in settling conflict situations. This is stated in the investigation of the edition named "Project".
According to the article of the edition, Ramzan Kadyrov and his relative, Adam Delimkhanov, a State Duma MP, earn, through dummies, hundreds of millions US dollars. Meanwhile, by the law, officials in Russia have no right to do business.
"If we look at their lifestyle, only super-rich people can live like that – they possess business jets, supercars and expensive real estate," the authors of the inquiry have stated.
According to the "Project", one of the nominal businessmen is a realtor Krotov, an employee of the Embassy of Grenada to Russia. Krotov, as the authors suggest, bought up businessmen's debts or became a nominal co-owner of their businesses.
According to the inquiry, Krotov at least twice gained access to the assets worth hundreds of millions US dollars, acting in the interests of Chechen authorities.
The edition claims that Krotov had also overseen the construction of Kadyrov's residence in his ancestral village of Tsentaroi.
