Armenia reports about two soldiers killed on border with Azerbaijan

Two soldiers were killed as a result of a shelling attack from the Azerbaijani side, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of Armenia reported. According to the official information released by the authorities of the two countries, the number of victims of the three-day conflict at the border reached 25.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that starting from July 12, there are shelling attacks on the combat positions deployed near villages and towns on both sides of the border in the Tovuz District of Azerbaijan and the Tavush Region of Armenia. Today, the Armenian MoD has reported about two killed officers, and Azerbaijan – about a killed villager.

"During the shelling attack, regular soldiers – Junior Sergeants Smbat Gabrielyan and Grisha Matevosyan – got fatal wounds," reported on Facebook Shushan Stepanyan, the press secretary for the Armenian MoD.

Earlier, the Ministry of Defence of Azerbaijan has claimed that the Armenian armed forces shelled the villages of Agdam and Dondar Gushchu in the Tovuz District and that Azerbaijan "took countermeasures." In its turn, Armenia reported a shelling attack by the Azerbaijani troops on the village of Chinari in the Tavush Region and later – on the city of Berd.
