Sources report searches of relatives of murdered Ingush rights defender

In Ingushetia, law enforcers are conducting searches of the homes of Musa Aushev and his nephews, who are relatives of the rights defender, Maksharip Aushev, killed in 2009.

According to sources, the searches may have to do with the criminal cases opened on the violations admitted during the construction of socially significant sites in the republic. Musa Aushev is a brother of Maksharip Aushev, who was killed in 2009, the "Interfax" specifies.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Maksharip Aushev was a member of the expert board on Northern Caucasus and was killed in 2009, when his car was shelled on the highway near Nalchik. Shortly before the murder, in Ingushetia, an attempt was made to kidnap him. Twice, in 2011 and 2014, the inquiry into the murder was suspended. In October 2014, Aushev's relatives demanded to resume the inquiry.

Earlier, Magomed-Hadji Aushev, Maksharip's father, claimed that he knew who killed his son. In doing so, he named high-ranking law enforcers, who, according to his version, were involved in the murder.
