Khasavyurt medics claim incomplete coronavirus statistics
The bosses of the Khasavyurt ambulance station refuse to pay surcharges to medics, taking advantage of the fact that due to lack of tests, not all the infected persons were diagnosed the coronavirus, health workers claim.
About half of the employees of the Khasavyurt inter-district ambulance station failed to receive the federal payments promised by President Vladimir Putin to medical workers for their fight against coronavirus, one of the ambulance drivers told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. According to his story, the refusal was explained by the fact that surcharges were due only to those who had contact with patients who confirmed coronavirus.
"We worked in April and May, when there was an incidence peak. We went to the calls, contacted patients with suspected coronavirus, and brought them to hospital. But when it came to the payments promised by the Russian president, it turned out that we received nothing, since none of our patients was diagnosed with COVID-19," he has stated.
The ambulance employee has clarified that in the first months almost no one passed coronavirus tests. "We had 17-18 calls a day. Almost half of them were suspected COVID-19 cases. And this is only for one team; in parallel, some 10-13 teams serviced the city and the district. We worked for two months in this regime. At first, none of the patients passed coronavirus tests; and some were simply sent back home because there were no vacant beds in hospital," said the driver.
