Law enforcers report elimination of hiding with ammunition in Chechnya
On July 8, law enforcers discovered a hiding arranged by militants in a forest on the outskirts of the Alkhazurovo village in the Urus-Martan District, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent learned from an official of the Chechen military commandant's office. "The hiding contained 30 rounds for automatic and under-barrel grenade launchers, 20 rounds of various calibres, 11 rounds for a rocket-propelled grenade launcher (known as RPG), two mortar shells, and two fragmentation-type mines," the official of the Chechen military commandant's office reported.
Fighters of the National Guard of Russia and agents of the FSB for Chechnya discovered the hiding "while performing military-combat missions," the National Guard of Russia reported on its official website on July 8.
The law enforcement bodies suggest that the hiding was arranged in the early 2000s by militants of one of the groupings operating in the foothills of the republic. Over the past two days, the law enforcers' discovery became the second hiding with ammunition found in Chechnya, the official of the Chechen military commandant's office noted.
