Niece of Psyzh villager recognizes him among detainees

Inna Musaeva, a resident of the Karachay-Cherkessian Republic (KChR), said that she has recognized her uncle and several other Psyzh villagers in the detention footage posted by special services. The detainees are accused of extremism, and, according to Musaeva, they were under physical pressure.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 25, dozens of women from the village of Psyzh in the KChR gathered outside the building of the Centre for Combating Extremism (CCE) in Cherkessk, the republic's capital, and demanded to explain where their detained relatives were kept. Earlier, after searches in the village, at least nine villagers were detained. Their relatives assert that law enforcers had planted weapons on two of them, and extremist literature – on the rest of the detainees.

According to a relative of one of the detainees, Azert Temirov and a local resident named Khibirtov were placed into the SIZO (pre-trial prison) until the end of August. Two other villagers were placed under house arrest.

Inna Musaeva, a niece of Rustam Shkhagoshev, has stated that she has data on the use of physical pressure on the detainees.

She has stated that in the footage of detention disseminated by law enforcers, who reported the detention of KChR residents, who, according to law enforcers, had called for the creation of a caliphate in Northern Caucasus, she recognized her uncle, as well as Khibirtov and Temirov.
