Residents of KChR village claim unjustified detention of their relatives

Law enforcers have detained at least nine residents of the village of Psyzh in the Abazin District by planting weapons and extremist literature on them, their relatives assert. They could not achieve response from law enforcement bosses about the detainees' whereabouts.

The above nine people were detained after searches in the village of Psyzh, compactly populated by Abazins, detainees' relatives have informed. They claim that law enforcers had planted weapons on two of them, and extremist literature on the rest of them," the "Novaya Gazeta" has reported.

On June 25, dozens of women-villagers gathered near the building of the Centre for Combating Extremism (CCE) in Cherkessk and demanded to explain where the detainees were kept, but did not receive any response, says the post of the night on June 26 made in the public Politika09_com.

As of 8:29 p.m. Moscow time, the websites of the Investigating Department for the Karachay-Cherkessian Republic (KChR) of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) and of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) had no information about the detention of Psyzh villagers.
