Resident of Chechnya declared wanted on suspicion of links with IS in Syria
Law enforcement bodies have put a 26-year-old resident of Chechnya, suspected of participating in the warfare in Syria on the side of the "Islamic State" (IS), a terrorist organization banned in Russia by the court, on the wanted list.
"Several years ago, Shamil Suleimanov, born in 1993, secretly left for Syria and took part in hostilities in the ranks of the IS," a source from the Chechen Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has stated.
According to his story, Suleimanov can use documents to someone else's name.
According to the Chechen MIA, since the start of hostilities in Syria, about 800 residents of Chechnya had left for the Middle East to join the IS; 724 of them are on the international wanted list.
The "Caucasian Knot" has also reported that Chechen law enforcement bodies had put the Tamiev brothers from the Nadterechny District on the wanted list on suspicion of participating in a radical grouping at the Syrian war.
