Two residents of Chechnya accused of links with IS
Law enforcers have put Tamiev brothers from the Nadterechny District on the wanted list on suspicion of participating in the war in Syria as members of a radical grouping.
According to investigators, two natives of the village of Znamenskoye left Chechnya and joined the "Islamic State" (IS), a terrorist organization, banned in Russia by the court, the Chechen Prosecutor's Office has informed. They face up to 15 years in prison.
The "Caucasian Knot" has also reported that on June 17, a court in Rostov-on-Don sentenced Islam Ukurov, a native of Grozny, accused of trying to join the IS in Syria, to seven years in prison.
