Ingush native and policemen wounded in shootout in Moscow

In Moscow, a native of Ingushetia opened fire on policemen and was wounded by return fire, sources reported. The assailant is being checked for involvement in the "Islamic State" (IS), a terrorist organization banned in Russia by the court.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), the policemen stopped a taxi for violation of the traffic rules. A man passing by opened fire at the policemen presumably from a traumatic gun. Two of them were wounded.

The policemen opened fire in return and wounded the shooter.

The assailant was identified as 25-year-old native of Ingushetia, a source from the MIA's Chief Department for Moscow reported. The shooter will be checked through the police databases concerning his possible involvement in terrorist and extremist activities.
