CTO in Khasavyurt District becomes second special operation in Dagestan since early 2020

A special counterterrorist operation (CTO), during which four suspected militants were cordoned off in a private house in the Khasavyurt District, was preceded by a shootout in the Tabasaran District on April 16.

On Friday, sources reported about a search for a grouping of suspected militants in a forest in the Khasavyurt District. According to a source, young local residents were cordoned off in a private house, and law enforcers began the assault.

The four suspected militants are the remaining members of the "Endirei" grouping, the source reports. Earlier, on May 14, the Chechen Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) announced a search for five natives of the Dagestani village of Endirei, who were plotting attacks. The wanted natives of Dagestan are members of the "Endirei" militant grouping, the "Operline.live Caucasus" Telegram channel reports.

According to the calculations run by the "Caucasian Knot" and based on its own materials and information from other open sources, the above special operation in the Khasavyurt District became the second CTO in Dagestan since April 16. On that day, a shootout occurred in the Tabasaran District near the village of Darvaga, and law enforcers killed a car driver who opened fire.
