During the week of May 11-17, 2020, no casualties or victims were recorded during the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus. These are the results of the calculations run by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from open sources.

Special and counterterrorist operations

On May 13, operative-search operations began over the Assa River in the Sunzha District of Ingushetia, near the border with Chechnya. As reported, law enforcers were searching for a militants' grouping headed by Aslan Byutukaev (Amir Khamzat), who is treated as the organizer of the attack on Grozny in 2014. His grouping, according to some reports, has 12 militants. Prior to the special operation, the heads of rural administrations, despite the quarantine, gathered for a meeting with the head of the Sunzha District FSB Division. They were informed about the measures taken for finding the outlaws and asked to persuade villagers to refrain from going to the forest for a while. Local residents report that militaries behave calmly and correctly.

Detentions

On May 12, it became known that seven residents of Karachay-Cherkessia were detained on suspicion of dealing with firearms. In the house of one of the suspects located in the village of Uchkeken, they found a workshop for remaking and manufacturing of weapons. Three of the seven detainees were arrested, one is under house arrest; the remaining three are at large under recognizance not to leave.
