Azerbaijani authorities announce mitigation of quarantine measures

During the last 24 hours, Azerbaijan revealed 101 new cases of coronavirus infection; one patient died. Since May 18, the country's government will cancel the permissive system of leaving home; the catering facilities, museums and exhibition halls will reopen.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that since March 24, Azerbaijan is under the quarantine regime; on May 1, authorities announced extension of the quarantine regime until May 31, but with the abolition of a number of restrictions.

Given the sanitary and epidemiological situation, the total number of COVID-19 infected people, and the dynamics of patients' recovery, a number of restrictions will be lifted in Azerbaijan, the operative headquarters under the Cabinet of Ministers announced on May 15. From the midnight on May 18, in particular, the permissive system of leaving home will be cancelled. Boulevards, parks, and recreation areas will open, provided that no more than 10 people will group together. Services provided by restaurants, cafés and tea houses are resumed (excluding the use of hookah). Museums and exhibition salons will reopen.
