Vadim Cheldiev included in list of extremists

Law enforcers institute the third criminal case against Vadim Cheldiev, an initiator of the protests in North Ossetia. The criminal case has been instituted under the article on extremism. Vadim Cheldiev is included in the list of extremists compiled by the "Rosfinmonitoring" (the Russian Federal Service for Financial Monitoring).

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Vadim Cheldiev, the initiator of an unsanctioned rally to be held in Vladikavkaz on April 20, was detained even before the rally began. The activist was detained in a case on public dissemination of knowingly false information about the coronavirus infection. However, Vadim Cheldiev was arrested in a case on use of violence against a public officer. Vadim Cheldiev argues that a clash was staged. On May 11, his relatives recorded a video appeal to the law enforcers who were eyewitnesses of the incident and invited them to meet. The detainee's relatives expressed their willingness to apologize if the Vadim Cheldiev's guilt of assaulting a law enforcer was confirmed.

Vadim Cheldiev is included under number 8993 in the list of extremists and terrorists compiled by the "Rosfinmonitoring".

The third criminal case has been instituted against Vadim Cheldiev under the charge of extremism (Part 2 of Article 280 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), advocate Batraz Kulchiev informed the "Interfax". "A decision on the institution of a criminal case was made after Vadim Cheldiev had posted on his Instagram page a call to residents of North Ossetia to go to a square on April 20," reported Batraz Kulchiev as quoted by the "Interfax" today.
