Two PFPA activists arrested for 30 days each

Ali Imankhanly and Elkhan Aliev, activists of the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (PFPA), received 30 days of administrative arrest each for "violating the quarantine regime" and "disobedience to the police," the party has reported.

Messrs Imankhanly and Aliev were detained in the afternoon on May 9 in Baku. "We don't know the circumstances of their detention. They only managed to call and report that they were detained right in the street," Ilham Gusein, a member of the PFPA's Presidium, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

"As it turned out, the activists were brought to the Narimanov District Court, which sentenced them to 30 days of arrest under Articles 211 (violation of the quarantine regime) and 535 (disobedience to the police) of the Code of Administrative Offenses," Mr Gusein has explained, adding that Imankhanly and Aliev became the 13th and 14th PFPA activists administratively arrested within the last month.
