Minnesota state recognizes NKR's independence

The Minnesota State Senate has passed a resolution recognizing the independence of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR). Minnesota is the tenth US state to recognize the NKR independence.

According to the Ttrackbill legislation website, Minnesota also calls on the US president to uphold the right of the NKR people to independence.

In 2012-2014, seven US states passed resolutions calling on the US president to recognize the NKR independence: Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Maine, Louisiana, California, Hawaii and members of the Georgia State House of Representatives. In September 2017, the NKR was recognized by the state of Michigan; in April 2019 – by the state of Colorado.

Let us remind you that the proclamation of the NKR took place on September 2, 1991. Azerbaijan refused to recognize it, considering the NKR to be a part of its territory. The international status of the NKR is not regulated. UN countries refuse to treat the NKR as an independent state.
