Armenia is ahead of Azerbaijan and Georgia in number of coronavirus victims

Armenia is the leader in the number of deaths of coronavirus patients among the South-Caucasian countries; as of April 23, the count of victims in Armenia reached 49.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the first coronavirus case in Georgia was recorded on February 26. On February 28, a COVID-19 patient was identified in Azerbaijan. The first confirmed coronavirus case in Armenia was reported on March 1; on April 7, first cases of coronavirus infection were confirmed in Nagorno-Karabakh and Abkhazia. On April 23, the countries of Southern Caucasus had 3502 cases of coronavirus infection.

According to Johns Hopkins American University, in Armenia, the virus death toll has reached 24; in Azerbaijan – 20; and in Georgia – 5.
