In Georgia, refugees from Abkhazia received food packages; parcels were sent to 9000 families. First of all, the help was rendered the refugees, who are under quarantine due to coronavirus, and elderly people, the government of Abkhazia in exile has informed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that refugees from Abkhazia and South Ossetia had complained that they were not able to rent housing and were forced to move into buildings in Georgia without permission. In 2019, more than a thousand families received housing in Georgia.

Since March 21, Georgia is under the state of emergency due to the pandemic; and on March 31, the quarantine and curfew regimes were introduced.

In Tbilisi, foodstuff parcels were delivered to 23 quarantined families in the Gldani District. People were isolated in the building after three of them were diagnosed coronavirus on April 7, said Lela Akobiya, the chair of the tenants' community.

The Government of Abkhazia plans to bring food to residents of the isolated house for the Easter.
