YouTube users argue about fate of Aslambek Akhmetkhanov disappeared in Chechnya
Some Internet users fear for the life of Chechen businessman Aslambek Akhmetkhanov, who stopped contacting his relatives and friends after Ramzan Kadyrov had reprimanded him in public. Other users suggest that the entrepreneur was detained or took shelter.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 1, the "Grozny" ChGTRK (Chechen State TV and Radio Company) showed a story reporting how Ramzan Kadyrov reprimanded Aslambek Akhmetkhanov, the director of the oil company, for drinking alcoholic beverages in a company of women and shooting in the air. Aslambek Akhmetkhanov publicly apologized to the leader of Chechnya.
In her video appeal to the Chechen leader, a spouse of Aslambek Akhmetkhanov asked Ramzan Kadyrov to forgive her husband. Such an appeal contradicts the Chechen traditions, but it is caused by hopelessness and the woman's fears for safety of her husband, the Caucasian experts explain.
Aslambek Akhmetkhanov still did not contact his relatives and friends, a relative of the businessman reported.
The wife of Aslambek Akhmetkhanov has every reason to worry about the safety of her disappeared husband, but it is unlikely that he will be killed, suggests Ruslan Kutaev, the president of the Assembly of Caucasian Nations. According to him, Aslambek Akhmetkhanov braved it out with respect to the authorities of Chechnya. "There was a clear violation of the quarantine regime, which the authorities cannot allow. The very fact that the man brought a table outside and organized a small feast with his friends indicates that was still a challenge to the authorities," Ruslan Kutaev explained.
