Analysts link Kadyrov's actions in honour of Pskov paratroopers with Kremlin's directions

The events in Chechnya in memory of Pskov paratroopers show Ramzan Kadyrov's desire to improve his relations with the federal law enforcement bodies, the analysts interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot" believe.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on February 28, official events took place in Chechnya on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the battle involving soldiers of the sixth squadron from the Pskov Airborne Division and militants. In that regard, local residents accused the Chechen authorities of cynicism and offered them to pay tribute not to the memory of soldiers, but of civilians killed during the Chechen military campaign.

Sergey Zhavoronkov, an expert of the Gaidar Institute of Economic Policy, has noted that the event in honour of Pskov paratroopers is Kadyrov's reverence to law enforcers, but this will not help him in solving all the problems with them.

Ramzan Kadyrov does not care about the memory of Pskov paratroopers, Ruslan Kutaev, the president of the Assembly of Caucasian Nations, is sure.

"After all, these paratroopers and their alleged feat are the instruction downloaded for Kadyrov from the Russian Presidential Administration," Mr Kutaev told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

However, he believes that the event in honour of paratroopers will not improve Ramzan Kadyrov's relationships with federal security forces. It's not his personal initiative to commemorate the perished paratroopers. He was told to do it. Therefore, this can not affect his relationships with law enforcers or the Ministry of Defence. That is, in this context, he does what any other leader of any other republic of Northern Caucasus is forced to do," Ruslan Kutaev has added.
