Khangoshvili's alleged killer arrested again in Germany

The German Prosecutor's Office has issued a warrant for the arrest of the person, suspected of killing Zelimkhan Khangoshvili, in order to question him again.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Khangoshvili, a native of the Pankisi Gorge, was shot dead in Berlin on August 23, 2019. A Russian citizen was detained on suspicion of committing the murder. Casualty's relatives and friends suggested that Russian and Georgian special services were interested in liquidating him.

Russian President Vladimir Putin declared Khangoshvili one of the organizers of the Moscow metro explosions. Ramzan Kadyrov also treated Khangoshvili as a terrorist, rejecting allegations of involvement of Chechen and Russian authorities in the murder.

According to The Insider, Bellingcat and Der Spiegel, the real name of the suspect in Khangoshvili's killing is Vadim Krasikov. The shooter at Khangoshvili used a fake passport to the name of Vadim Sokolov.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that members of the Chechen Diaspora in Europe had linked the murder of Khangoshvili with the activities of Russian special services. They had persecuted Khangoshvili is connected with "his participation in the second Chechen military campaign as a commander," said Ekkehard Maas, the head of the German-Caucasian society in Berlin.
