At actions in Europe, Chechen refugees demand to punish Aliev's killers

Protest actions related to the assassination of Imran Aliev were held at Russian Embassies in Austria and Germany. The picketers demanded from law enforcement agencies of these countries to find and punish those responsible for the blogger's murder, as well as ensure the safety of other Chechen refugees.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on February 1, it became known that the body of Imran Aliev, a migrant from Chechnya and a blogger, known as Mansur Stary, was found with stab wounds in a hotel in the French city of Lille. Imran Aliev was killed by a resident of the Gudermes District of Chechnya, who has already returned to Chechnya, the Chechen blogger, Tumso Abdurakhmanov, stated on February 2.

On February 7, the action at the Russian Embassy in Vienna gathered about 30 people, Ibragim Nikarkho, one of the picketers, an activist of the "Ichkeria Cultural Association" and a refugee from Chechnya, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

"Our slogans aimed at attracting the public attention to the fact that we are killed here," Mr Nikarkho has stated.

According to his story, the resolution demanding to find and prosecute the perpetrators of Imran Aliev's killing, ensure the safety of Chechen refugees, and stop the practice of deporting refugees from Chechnya "to their potential humiliation, torture and death in Russia" was sent by e-mail to Austrian law enforcement agencies.

A similar resolution was sent on February 7 after a picket at the Russian Embassy in Berlin to the German General Prosecutor's Office, Aslan Artsuev, the organizer of the picket and the head of the German branch of the "Peace and Human Rights" International Association, told the "Caucasian Knot".

According to his story, the protest action in Berlin related to Aliev's murder was several dozen people strong.
